Teresa had hoped to be a doctor like her prominent physician father, William K. Nasser, M.D., a cardiologist and founder of Nasser, Smith & Pinkerton Cardiology, a national and international leader in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of heart disease. Dr. Nasser is widely respected, both as a physician and as a patient, having himself survived three open-heart surgeries and a liver transplant. As one of the world's first and longest-living recipients of open heart surgery, Dr. Nasser has been an inspiration to everyone who knows him, but it was his dedication to saving others with heart disease that prompted Teresa to want to be a doctor herself.

Merging Media and Medicine

Teresa's own battle with a life-threatening form of cancer during her freshman year of college left her bald and emaciated from months of harsh chemotherapy that left her severely nauseous. After a miraculous recovery, Teresa went on to graduate with a degree in Journalism and Human Development. She then began a career in broadcast news for 17 years as a popular news anchor and medical reporter for both NBC and CBS affiliates, dominating the ratings as anchor of the #1 newscast in its time period. Following in that success, Teresa left WTHI to become the first weekend morning news anchor at NBC affiliate WTHR. Unfortunately, after three years at WTHR, Teresa discovered she had another tumor, this time on her thyroid. Although benign, exhausting treatment for the tumor would force Teresa to leave her 17-year career as a news anchor. However, it was during this time that she began exploring alternative and holistic health options which lead her to her next venture. Today Teresa is carrying on the legacy her father started by using the media to educate others about disease prevention. Teresa’s new venture was producing and hosting her own TV and radio broadcasts that provided comprehensive health information that emphasized stress reduction for true disease prevention.
